The Role (Read Carefully)
  • You are not just an editor. You are a content strategist who edits.
Your job is to:
  • Architect long-form YouTube content for watch time and authority
  • Engineer short-form clips for virality and conversion
  • Use AI tools to dramatically increase output without sacrificing quality
  • If you dont understand why a video retains spreads or convertsthis role is not for you.
What Youll Actually Do
  • Long-Form YouTube Strategy & Editing
  • Edit long-form YouTube videos optimized for:
    • Audience retention
    • Session watch time
    • Authority positioning
  • Structure content with:
    • Strong opening hooks
    • Pattern interrupts
    • Logical narrative flow
  • Advise on:
    • Titles
    • Thumbnails
    • Video structure (even before filming)
  • Short-Form & Viral Content Execution
  • Identify high-viral-potential moments from long-form content
  • Repurpose into:
    • YouTube Shorts
    • Instagram Reels
    • TikTok
  • Engineer clips using:
    • Hooks in the first 13 seconds
    • Subtitles that increase watch time
    • Visual pacing that matches platform behavior
  • Understand platform-specific psychology (YouTube TikTok Instagram)
  • AI-Powered Editing & Workflow Optimisation
  • Leverage AI tools to increase speed and scale including:
    • (recording & post-production)
    • OpusClip (long short content extraction)
    • HeyGen (AI avatars / localization where relevant)
    • / (dynamic subtitles & formatting)
  • Build efficient workflows that:
    • Reduce manual editing time
    • Increase publishing velocity
    • Maintain brand consistency
    • Performance Feedback & Iteration
    • Analyze performance data:
    • Retention graphs
    • Hook drop-off points
    • Short-form completion rates
  • Iterate editing style and structure based on what works
  • Collaborate with strategy and growth teams to improve outcomes

Requirements

  • Youve edited content that has:
    • Strong watch time

  • You understand:

  • You actively use AI tools to move faster and smarter

Requirements & Skills

  • 36 years experience in video editing and content production
  • Strong experience with:
    • YouTube long-form content
    • Short-form social video (Reels Shorts TikTok)
  • Proficiency in:
    • Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
    • After Effects (nice to have not required)
  • Hands-on experience with AI video tools such as:

    • OpusClip
    • HeyGen
    • /
  • Understanding of:
    • YouTube Studio analytics
    • Short-form performance metrics
