Job Summary
Enterprise Technology at Ford is building intuitive datarich shopping experiences that help customers quickly find instock vehicles that match their needs. As a Frontend Developer youll ship a fast accessible and localized UI in React/ working closely with design platform and data partners to turn complex inventory pricing and eligibility signals into a simple confident search journey.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
- Build worldclass search UI in React : autosuggest/typeahead smart facets & filters sort map/list views pagination and resilient empty/noresults recovery.
- Performance ownership: meet Core Web Vitals and p95 latency targets using App Router SSR/ISR/RSC streaming/Suspense codesplitting and server/edge caching.
- Accessibility & i18n: deliver WCAG 2.2 AA patterns (comboboxes lists dialogs) strong keyboard navigation screenreader flows and robust localization (including RTL).
- Data integration: consume REST/GraphQL APIs for dealer inventory availability pricing signals and incentives; design graceful UI for partial data rate limits and timeouts.
- Quality & reliability: write clean maintainable code; add unit/integration/E2E tests (Jest React Testing Library Playwright/Cypress); participate in reviews and CI quality gates.
- Design system: contribute reusable documented Search components (Storybook) with visual and a11y regression coverage.
- Security & privacy: apply CSP input sanitization cookie/session hygiene and privacyaware analytics.
Qualifications
Youll have...
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and equivalent experience.
- 2 years with JavaScript/TypeScript and React; production experience.
- Deep understanding of (App Router SSR/ISR/RSC streaming) and modern datafetching/caching on Server/Edge.
- Proven track record meeting Core Web Vitals (LCP/INP/CLS) and managing performance budgets at scale.
- Solid accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) and handson internationalization/localization experience (incl. RTL).
- Experience integrating REST/GraphQL services and strong clientside state/data patterns (e.g. TanStack Query/SWR/Redux Toolkit).
- Familiarity with other languages such as Java or Python (for collaborating across services and tooling).
- Working knowledge of CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins Tekton GitHub Actions) and Gitbased workflows.
- Strong understanding of a public cloud provider (GCP AWS or Azure).
Even better you may have...
- Google Vertex AI / LLM experience (prompting evaluation/guardrails latency/cost controls) for AIassisted discovery.
- AEM (Content Fragments GraphQL/Content Services caching/CDN strategies).
- Elasticsearch fundamentals (analyzers synonyms) and searchrelevance literacy.
- Geospatial/mapping UX (radius clustering) for near me inventory scenarios.
- familiarity for server/edge routes; feature flagging and experimentation platforms.
- Observability (logs/metrics/traces) and web security best practices.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
