Lifeguard Pool Seasonal (Citywide)

Job Summary

The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring pool activity enforcing safety rules and providing a safe environment for all guests. This position requires maintaining alertness at all times performing rescues when necessary and delivering excellent guest service in a fastpaced outdoor environment.

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

• Provide courteous professional and friendly service to all guests

• Initiate and engage in positive guest interactions while maintaining safety awareness

• Guard the pool from designated lifeguard stands to ensure guest safety at all times

• Maintain an upright attentive and alert posture while on duty

• Follow all safety health and operational standards consistently

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with American Red Cross guidelines

• Maintain a clean safe and welcoming pool environment

What You Will Need

• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Lifeguard certification CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid trainingAll certifications must be completed prior to employment

• Strong customer service skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with frequent guest interaction

• Ability to tolerate a closeknit work environment with constant coworker engagement

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. bend push pull and perform other physical tasks

• Ability to stand walk and move throughout the pool area for the duration of the shift

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and outdoor conditions

• Ability to assess situations quickly and perform rescue skills using sidestroke crawl or breaststroke

• Ability to read write speak and understand English

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to lift 5075 lbs. and move lounge chairs towel carts and other equipment as needed

• Must be able to swim 500 meters nonstop using approved strokes

• Must maintain physical stamina and a calm focused mental attitude to perform under pressure

• Must be able to respond to visual and verbal cues

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

• Finalist candidates must complete a drug test and background check prior to receiving an offer
