Some of your daily responsibilities include:

• Plan implement and oversee social and recreational programs for students with autism developmental and/or behavioral disabilities.
• Through established recreational procedures track record and implement effective recreational activities.
• Schedule use of gymnasium pool and other recreational areas.
• Schedules oversees and implements special events and activities as well as monitors appropriate documentation and records (IE: Special Olympics Fall Festival Summer Picnic etc.)
• Maintains supplies and inventory for unit activities

We are currently seeking an Activities Coordinator to design create and implement recreational and social activities and programs for children/adolescents with intellectual & developmental disabilities/autism diagnosis and behavioral health needs residing in our residential programs located in West Chester PA. Devereux Pennsylvania Childrens Services (DPACS) center serves children adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders intellectual and developmental disabilities behavioral emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF)acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP) assessment services community-based mental health services community-based employment training and social skills training and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities autism spectrum disorders concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS) a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors and prevents negative behaviors to create safe supportive living year more than 1000 children and adolescents receive specialized care in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face all with the goal of providing each child with the academic social emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in related field prefered.

EXPERIENCE: At least three years experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and behavior disorders providing recreational and leisure activities. Proficient computer skills mastery of Microsoft Office Applications experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar Pro-Filer and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently prioritize manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to established guidelines. Valid drivers license must be maintained.
