Full-Time Mental Health Worker

Division/Program:

(Adult 24/7 Inpatient) Crisis Residential Unit

Starting Compensation:

17.46 - 19.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Merced CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Full Time Tuesday-Saturday PM Shift 2PM-1030PM

This role is eligible for commuter benefits:Employees who commute over 20 miles one way may receive a monthly stipend:

  • $200 per month for fulltime staff
  • $100 per month for parttime staff

What you bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year of full-time direct care experience preferred OR one (1) year experience of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health field preferred.
  • Valid California Drivers License required and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria required

How you will make a difference

  • Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities.
  • Monitors clients attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
  • Conducts and assists activity groups and community outings independently.
  • Encourages clients interaction and socialization with other peers providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model.
  • Accurately documents in writing each clients attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.

Division/Program Overview:

  • 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
  • 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
  • Rehabilitation/recovery services including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
  • Medication evaluation and support services

In accordance with California law the grade for this position is 17.46 - 24.44. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
