Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design SuDS and surface water management.

Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies local authorities highways / rail authorities and developers.

Its an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes we seek to recruit an Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Team in Bristol. We are looking for entry level candidates who may have limited experience in the area but with good analytical skills and a desire to learn.

We arent just engineers environmental professionals or consultants. Were pioneers constantly innovating and pushing boundaries to tackle some of the worlds most pressing challenges especially when it comes to water. From enhancing our beautiful rivers and urban landscapes to building sustainable cities in the harshest environments our Networks & Drainage Solutions (N&DS) team is at the forefront.

Over the next 10 years we plan to expand the practice rapidly to meet our clients objectives. Were developing enhanced training courses to accelerate our staff resource capability. It means great futures for both new and experienced colleagues.

Your role

• To develop computer models to investigate flooding and environmental problems and generation of outline solutions.
• Build verification and analysis of hydraulic sewer models outputs.
• To development of 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
• Data handling and analysis.
• Use of GIS software (such as MapInfo & ArcGIS) to support our understanding of complex environmental problems.
• Development of reports and other project deliverables.
• Survey planning and survey supervision.
• To support junior members of the team to proactively solve environmental problems for our clients.

About you

• An understanding of the UK water industry environment and sustainability and desire to apply your skills to the challenges the environment faces.
• Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
• Proactive self-starter with a desire to learn and develop technically and be working towards a professional qualification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
