About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Compounding Pharmacist to join a fast-growing patient-centric compounding pharmacy supporting a large multi-state healthcare platform. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with deep expertise in non-sterile and/or sterile compounding strong regulatory judgment and a commitment to quality safety and precision.
The Senior Compounding Pharmacist will play a key role in overseeing formulation accuracy compliance workflow optimization and technician supervision while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee sterile and/or non-sterile compounding in accordance with USP <795> <797> and <800>
- Review prescriptions for accuracy appropriateness and regulatory compliance
- Supervise and train compounding technicians
- Ensure adherence to state board of pharmacy regulations and internal SOPs
- Maintain compounding documentation batch records and quality logs
- Collaborate with clinical operations and quality teams to improve workflows
- Support audits inspections and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current on compounding best practices regulatory updates and formulation science
RequirementsRequired
- PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- Active pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific)
- 5 years of compounding pharmacy experience
- Strong working knowledge of USP <795> <797> and <800>
- Experience supervising or mentoring technicians
Preferred
- Experience inhigh-volume compounding environments
- Familiarity with hormone therapy dermatologic or specialty compounds
- Board Certification in Compounding Pharmacy (BCNP) a plus
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and batch compounding
