The Nurse Manager under the general direction of the Assistant Director Ambulatory Operations the Physician Director for the practice and the Director of Nursing is responsible for ambulatory patient care activities at the Chesterton and Valparaiso locations. The Nurse Manager oversees day-to-operations including scheduling planning organizing and directing all activities related to patient centered care in the unit and handles an array of administrative duties including recruitment and hiring; supervision; purchasing; inventory; facility safety and equipment management.
Essential Job Functions:
Required Qualifications:
Five or more years nursing experience required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Demonstrated clinical and/or leadership skills that serve as a role model for subordinates.
Considerable skill in determining priorities working independently and exercising sound judgment.
High degree of initiative and problem-solving ability.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
