A growth-stage soil amendment company is seeking a Regional Sales Director to drive new business in Californias Central Valley. This individual contributor role focuses on prospecting relationship building consultative selling and closing new trials/sales in alignment with company goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth by identifying new opportunities and managing complete sales cycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers advisors and industry partners.
- Provide technical expertise to help customers understand benefits of soil and water efficiency improvements.
- Support less experienced sales team members through mentoring and coaching.
- Manage the sales territory including forecasting budgeting and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal technical research and operations teams to deliver customer success.
- Represent the company at customer meetings industry events and conferences.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction from initial engagement through after-sales support.
- Contribute to marketing and sales initiatives to expand market presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent with proven experience in agricultural sales.
- Deep network of permanent crop growers (e.g. almonds vineyards orchards) in the California Central Valley.
- Solid understanding of agronomy soil health and water use efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in consultative sales and closing large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of irrigation practices.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent communication relationship-building and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel within the region.
Compensation
$100k$130k base salary (DOE and performance) plus incentive bonus/commission.
