Job Summary
In the Cloud tribe in the Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) area the position of a senior engineer for Cyber Security Backup & Recovery has become available.
As a Senior Engineer in the Cyber Security Backup & Recovery squad you will play a critical role in designing implementing and maintaining resilient backup and recovery solutions that safeguard ING against ransomware threats. You will work closely with Product Managers Architects and cross-functional teams to deliver secure automated and compliant recovery capabilities for our global infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced backup and recovery solutions including immutable storage and air-gapped architectures.
- Automate recovery processes to reduce manual intervention and improve speed and reliability.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security Risk and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g. DORA NIS2).
- Monitor system health and recovery readiness proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap discussions ensuring alignment with INGs resilience objectives.
- Document and communicate technical designs and operational procedures clearly to stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering backup/recovery solutions or cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of modern backup technologies immutable storage and recovery orchestration.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (private/public) and global infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g. Python PowerShell Ansible).
- Agile mindset with hands-on experience in Scrum or SAFe methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced international environment.
