About the Team
As a fundamental pillar of the platform Horizon enables different business models within CookUnity ensuring that users can seamlessly subscribe to plans manage their preferences and successfully place their orders.
The team is responsible for two key areas:
- Enabling Business Models and Subscriptions: Horizon ensures that diverse user segments have access to tailored plans and subscription models optimizing their experience within the platform. This involves continuous iteration and experimentation to provide the best possible journey for each type of user.
- Order Management and Integrity: Horizon acts as the source of truth for user orders ensuring their accuracy and reliability. The team handles critical processes such as order creation autopilot selection and delivery eligibility based on user addresses guaranteeing a seamless experience from selection to fulfillment.
By combining a strong user experience focus with backend robustness Horizon plays a vital role in shaping the way users interact with CookUnity and ensuring operational stability across the platform.
The role
As a Senior iOS Engineer youll report to your Horizons team Engineering Manager. Youll work closely together with other squad members participating in an agile software development process. Youll work closely with your team to create and execute your roadmap. Youll be supported by other product development squads and other CookUnity business functions. You will also interact with other squads working on other functionalities of the platform but also doing iOS development. This is a full-time position.
As part of a cross-functional team you will collaborate closely with product managers mobile/web engineers and designers to create a top-tier experience for the mobile users. This is a great opportunity for a senior engineer eager to work on challenging technical problems while contributing to customer-facing products that directly impact user engagement and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support the entire mobile application lifecycle (concept design test and release) in a fast-paced environment.
- Work alongside Product & UX teams to build high-quality experiences.
- Help estimate plan and execute new features and integrations.
- Understanding end-user requirements and use cases and translating them into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.
- Advocate for optimized practices across the engineering organization.
- Participate in the code reviews to help other team members identify improvement opportunities
- Improve monitoring observability and logging for backend services
- Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions contributing to technical best practices
Minimum Requirements
- Proficient in Swift with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
- Knowledge of and practical experience with iOS design patterns coding and testing.
- Proven experience with React Native and its ecosystem.
- Understanding of Apples human interface design guidelines and ability to create exciting UI/UX design. Any SwiftUI Experience is a plus!
- Experience with Git or equivalent version control systems.
- Experience working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and optimizing queries
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for backend services and APIs
- Experience working with A/B testing.
- Advanced English communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Ideal requirements
- Experience developing apps for the US market. E-commerce/consumer-facing app development is a big plus!
- Knowledge of AWS Kubernetes Terraform and cloud infrastructure.
- Prior experience working on (or with) established design systems.
- Solid understanding of performance optimization caching and API response efficiency
- Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog and logging frameworks.
- Proficiency with leveraging AI Coding tools in day to day development (Cursor Windsurf or similar).
