For Asia Pacific Excluding China (APEC) our unit growth strategy focuses primarily on the acquisition of management contracts and licensing of our hotel brands to third party owner-operators under franchise agreements.

The Assistant Manager or Manager Development Support performs a critical role in supporting the Senior Director Development Support the Chief Development Officer APEC (CDO APEC) and the Development team in the following areas: data analysis and visualization project administration and reporting and owner due candidates will have a strong data mining skillsetthe tenacity to find the best solutionsas well astop-notch communication and story-telling skills. The data and records you maintain have direct downstream impact on the rest of the company and contributes to the acceleration of Marriotts growth in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Harness the power of all data and insights available from within and outside the company to support the APEC Development team analyzing trends patterns and opportunities for accelerating the growth of Marriotts brands.
  • Assist with developing clear insightful data visualizations and reporting dashboards that effectively communicate findings and contribute to impactful storytelling in presentation materials.
  • Maintain project data accuracy and proper records on Marriotts global database (OASIS) throughout the project life cycle liaising with Development team admins and other relevant disciplines including Asset Management Global Design Operations and HQ teams. Create internal job aids where necessary.
  • Maintain and manage accurate reporting of the companys property footprint and distribution.
  • Liaise with the rest of the internal deal team (Development Feasibility Legal Finance and Global Design) to manage the monthly Hotel Development Committee agendas and ensure all necessary processes are completed prior to the execution of each deal.
  • Manage the third-party owner-due-diligence process including the request submission and review of results escalating any major risks and issues to Legal Compliance and APEC CDO as needed and facilitating any discussions needed.
  • Assist the Development team to review each deals Owner Due Diligence report ensuring consistency risks are summarized accordingly and records are properly maintained.
  • Work closely with the Hotel Development Marketing team to maintain a shared platform that houses all data and marketing resources for the APEC Development team.
  • Enhance all lead-to-sign workflows via continuous process improvement and identify automation opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate related to accelerating Marriotts growth in APEC.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree.
  • 4+ years of professional work experience. Hospitality or real estate asset management industry experience preferred.
  • Past work experience in data mining and analytics Power BI PMO management compliance / risk management or hotel development will be advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Organized attentive to detail and committed to data integrity. Ensures delivery of regular reports on time and without error.
  • Must be data savvy and love crunching numbers.
  • Always curious a critical thinker and a resourceful problem solver. Able and willing to share ones opinion and propose ideas to improve practices based on data and have an impact on Marriotts transaction process.
  • Prone to action with a get it done attitude and a good sense of timing importance and urgency. Able to work in a fast-paced deal environment with multiple priorities updating stakeholders on progress and expected delivery.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal listening writing) and presentation skills and experience clarifying and summarizing complex issues.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and capability of building lasting internal and external relationships. Able to work in a highly multi-cultural and international team with a spirit of partnership and collaboration.
  • Mature professional demeanour and a strong business acumen. Experience operating independently demonstrating good judgement both in projects and situations.
  • Enthusiastic energetic and positive. A proactive outlook and approach to professional life is essential.
