Job Summary

We are currently taking resumes/applications for an EXPERIENCED Marine Electricians for Port Fourchonand surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

Job Scope:

o Installingand repairs wiring fixtures and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship and in shipyard facilities following blueprints and wiring diagrams

  • Position Requirements:
    • MUST be able to pass drug screen
    • MUST have reliable transportation.
    • MUST be able to provide own basic hand tools
    • MUSTbe able to provide PPE (Hard hat steel toes safety glasses & gloves)
  • Required Skills:
    • Candidate musthave ELECTRICAN & conduit experience
    • Knowledge of electrical systems hand tools and industrial equipment.
    • Awareness of national state and local electrical codes and regulations.
    • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
    • Ability to read schematics blueprints and other technical documents.
    • Requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations.
    • Must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents such as blueprints schematics or instructions.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws using hand tools and threads wires through conduit to terminals for example connection boxes circuit breakers voltage regulators and switch panels.
    • Strips insulation from wire ends and solders ends to terminals using stripping pliers and soldering iron. Connects power-supply circuits to radio radar sonar fire control and other electronic equipment.
    • Tests electrical characteristics for example voltage resistance and phase angle in circuits using voltmeters ohmmeters and phase rotation indicators.
    • May also construct instrument panels using hand tools rulers dividers and power drills following specifications.
    • Troubleshoots electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance repairs or replacement requirements.
    • Performs maintenance and repair of generators switchboards controllers circuit breakers electrical motors distribution panels alarm and lighting circuits.
    • Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required.
    • Supervises and participates in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard ships.
    • Maintains adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitions replacements as required.
    • Maintains electrical system maintenance histories notating date and extent of repairs and/or alterations.
    • Cleaning and preparing a job site
      • Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
    • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
    • Understand safety precautions associated with working in trenches and trench boxes.
      • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
      • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
      • Report safety hazards quality and production issues to management immediately
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
    • Must have good endurance
    • Must be able to stand bend stoop squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
      • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
      • Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust dirt and various other debris metal and paint fumes gases
      • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to high precarious places and outside weather conditions
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
  • Documents Required:

  • Pay:
    • $28.00 Per Hour
    • Weekly Pay
    • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
