MaineGeneral Health is hiring an Endoscopy Nurse Navigator to support patients undergoing endoscopic procedures by providing education coordination and advocacy throughout the continuum of care.

Job Description:

Position: Endoscopy Nurse Navigator (RN)
Location: ACH Augusta and Remote
Schedule: Part-time (32 hours/week)
Shift: Days

Position Summary:

The Endoscopy Nurse Navigator serves as a key clinical resource for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role provides pre-procedure outreach education coordination and advocacy to ensure patients are well-prepared informed and supported throughout the continuum of care. The Nurse Navigator serves as a liaison between patients their families and the interdisciplinary care team promoting seamless communication patient safety and optimal outcomes.

What Youll Do:

  • Assesses educates and empowers patients to actively participate in their care providing clarity regarding procedure pre-procedure preparations and post-procedure care.
  • Contact patients before their scheduled procedure to review the details of the process answer questions and ensure they are well-prepared for the procedure. Provides clinical education and expert guidance on pre-procedure instructions including fasting or medication adjustments and addresses any concerns related to the procedure. Works closely with patients identifying and resolving barriers to care or recovery.
  • Serves as a liaison between patients families and the interdisciplinary clinical team. Ensures seamless communication and information with physicians nurses and other healthcare providers involved in patient care.
  • Provides emotional support and counseling to patients and families offering guidance and education related to the procedure. Assists patients and families with resolving any issues by advising of options and referring to appropriate resources.

What You Bring:

  • Active RN license in the State of Maine
  • Endoscopy experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
