REPORTS TO: School Principal Director of Special Education and BCBAJOB GOAL: To work directly with Special Education students and their families to develop appropriate learning and social behaviors through the implementation of ABA programs as directed by the BCBA. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides ABA therapy sessions under the direction of the BCBA. 2. Assists BCBA in implementing behavioral programming and collecting data.3. Coach and train staff to ensure behavior strategies and plans are followed. 4. Serve as an ABA shadow in school to help generalize training for student. (A shadow is an ABA trained technician who accompanies the student in an integrated classroom setting in order to ensure that the appropriate behaviors developed during separate ABA therapy sessions are generalized and applied in the classroom setting.)5. Alert classroom teachers and BCBA to needs and concerns of individual students including incidents and/or complaints. 6. Participate in appropriate in-service training programs.7. Assists teachers in implementing strategies for reinforcing positive behavior based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students their needs interests and abilities.8. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.9. Regular reliable attendance.10. Perform reasonable professional tasks or duties as may be required by the Superintendent of Schools Director of Special Education and/or Building DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the major responsibilities of this position. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the major functions of this position. The position requires an individual to work inside a classroom setting where noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
