- Division:Security Department at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health Systems in Jackson LAThe mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs provided include inpatient interventions jail-based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric are a coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana.
ELMHS is looking forCorrectional Captain Therapeuticswho are passionate about supporting patient care while ensuring a safe and therapeutic this unique role as a CCT you will combine learned skills to help manage clients de-escalate challenging situations and promote safety and healing in a clinical setting. Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in a forensic behavioral correctional or penal institution with responsibility for the security custody clinical care or rehabilitation of offenders.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Develops work schedules to maintain 24-hour coverage by scheduling leave fairly and monitor attendance insuring time and attendance records are complete and assign staff to work on post of duties.
- Provides assistance to RN Managers in the treatment management of patients in accordance with the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations Department of Health (LDH); Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) and facility standards.
- Investigate criminal activity make on-site visits to enforce security policies and procedures.
- Conducts interviews for hire and promotions.
- Participate in education trainings that are mandatory for accreditation and licensure of the facility.
Appointment Type: The position may be filled as a Probational Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or Current permanent status classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected.
Compensation: Special Entrance Rate (SER) FULL-TIME: Corrections Lieutenant Therapeutic $24.35/hourly; $1948.00/bi-weekly.Specialty Pays: Various premium pay also available for each hour worked for full-time employees.
