They will work closely with the Principal Investigators research nurses laboratory teams and multidisciplinary clinicians to ensure projects are delivered efficiently on time and in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.The role combines scientific understanding with strong project management and leadership skills. The post holder will mentor junior staff support governance and quality assurance processes and facilitate the integration of translational research outputs into clinical practice.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject and Research Management- Coordinate a portfolio of translational research and diagnostic innovation projects from start-up through to completion.
- Support the Principal Investigator in study design planning ethics submissions and regulatory documentation.
- Develop and implement project timelines milestones and standard operating procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external collaborators sponsors and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor study progress track risks and deliverables and provide regular progress reports.
- Oversee and coordinate the collection processing and management of biological and clinical data in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ensure all necessary materials documentation and quality control measures are in place for project delivery.
Registry and Databasing Activities- Lead the development implementation and maintenance of secure research registries and databases.
- Oversee data entry cleaning and quality assurance to ensure integrity and completeness of research datasets.
- Support the development of metrics and dashboards to evaluate project impact and service improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimise database functionality and ensure compliance with data protection standards.
Governance Quality and Compliance- Ensure compliance with all ethical regulatory and institutional frameworks including ICH-GCP GDPR HRR and HSE research governance policies.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality study documentation version control and audit readiness.
- Support and respond to sponsor audits internal reviews or external inspections as required.
Finance and Resource Management- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- Track expenditure oversee procurement and manage reimbursement processes for study-related costs.
Team Leadership and Communication- Provide supervision mentorship and guidance to research and support staff within the research and innovation team.
- Promote effective cross-disciplinary communication among neurology geriatrics laboratory and administrative teams.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and institutional forums to support alignment of research and clinical priorities.

Qualifications & Experience requiredMust have:- BSc in clinical or life science related subject or equivalent third level qualification

and- 4 years relevant experience working in Clinical Research
- Previous experience in the coordination and set up of clinical trials and research studies
- Practical experience of using clinical trials and studies databases
- Prior experience of study costing and budget development
- Fluent command and understanding of the English language to include spoken and written word
Desirable:- Relevant experience working in dementia research
- Project Management training/experience for a minimum of 1 year
- Prior Experience in Regulatory/Sponsor inspection and audit
- Prior experience in the completion and submission of feasibility questionnaires relating to Dementia Clinical Trials and studies
Reward & Recognition- Remuneration is in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales grade code 0574.
- The appointment is whole time temporary and pensionable.
- The annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. The leave year runs from 1st April to the 31st of March each year
- Normal working hours are 35 worked over 5 days. Your contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm over 7 days to meet the requirements for extended day services in accordance with the terms of the Framework Agreement
