Job Description

A critical access hospital in New Hampshire is seeking an experienced and adaptable Perioperative Registered Nurse to support both the Operating Room and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys variety teamwork and providing exceptional care across the surgical continuum.

As a key member of the perioperative team you will ensure patient safety and comfort before during and after surgical procedures while collaborating closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and multidisciplinary staff.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room ensuring a safe sterile and efficient surgical environment
Prepare operating rooms verify equipment and supplies and maintain aseptic technique
Perform preoperative patient assessments and provide intraoperative patient advocacy
Coordinate care with surgeons anesthesia providers and surgical technologists
Deliver high-quality nursing care in the PACU including post-anesthesia monitoring and recovery
Assess airway vital signs pain levels and surgical sites during recovery
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge instructions
Accurately document all perioperative and PACU care in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

An ADN is required BSN preferred
Active RN license
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in PACU OR ICU or ED required
