Job Purpose
The Project & Minor Works Engineer is responsible for planning coordinating and supervising construction projects and minor civil works ensuring they are completed safely on time within budget and in compliance with approved drawings specifications and local authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Management
- Manage and supervise assigned construction projects and minor works from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate site activities subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of works.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and report delays or risks.
- Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings specifications and contract requirements.
Technical & Engineering Duties
- Review and interpret construction drawings specifications and BOQs.
- Prepare method statements work schedules and technical reports.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions on site.
Cost & Documentation Control
- Assist in preparing project estimates budgets and variation orders.
- Verify contractor invoices measurements and material quantities.
- Maintain proper documentation including daily reports inspection records and as-built drawings.
Health Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards company policies and local authority regulations.
- Identify potential safety hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants clients and authorities as required.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with clients consultants authorities and internal teams.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Support handover activities and project close-out documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Valid UPDA Certification (MMUP – Qatar) is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in civil construction and minor works.
- Experience in buildings infrastructure or maintenance projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good project management planning and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with local authority approvals and construction regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office AutoCAD; Primavera or similar software is an advantage.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
