Job Description & Summary

At PwC our people in people operations primarily focus on managing the people lifecycle and the day-to-day operational tasks related to managing employees. This includes activities such as employee onboarding offboarding payroll and benefits administration absence management employee record-keeping compliance with labour laws and regulations and managing employee inquiries and issues. These individuals enable HR processes and systems to run smoothly in order to efficiently support our workforce.

Those in human resource operations at PwC will focus on all areas of Human Resources and the business in executing Human Resources related transactions and administrative activities. You will be a primary HR point of contact in the resolution escalation or routing of inquiries as needed in line with HR protocols and guidelines as well as be part of a team of problem solvers that help solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate to join our Background Check Team. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting thorough background investigations on prospective employees and contractors to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive background checks including employment history educational verification criminal records credit history and reference checks.

Review and analyze investigation reports for discrepancies or concerns.

Collaborate with HR compliance and hiring managers to ensure timely and accurate background screening.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all background check activities.

Ensure all background checks comply with local state and federal laws as applicable.

Respond to inquiries from candidates and internal teams regarding background check status.

Assist in developing and improving background check procedures and documentation.

Maintain confidentiality and handle all sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Previous experience in background checks investigations HR or compliance is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using background check software or databases.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
