Job Summary

3 months contract with local authority

Join Shropshires UASC and Pathways team dedicated to supporting young people aged 16 who are in care or unaccompanied as they transition to independence. This role involves fulfilling statutory responsibilities for looked-after children while advancing immigration applications and collaborating with specialist services to secure legal status. The position offers a diverse caseload including both UASC and non-UASC young people with a primary focus on planning pathways to adulthood. We seek social workers experienced in UASC and CLA capable of creatively achieving permanence for older looked-after youth. You will be part of an Outstanding Local Authority benefiting from a stable team environment regular reflective supervision and consistent management oversight.

Responsibilities:

Fulfill statutory duties for looked-after children.
Progress immigration applications for unaccompanied minors.
Collaborate with specialist services to secure legal status for children.
Manage a mixed caseload of UASC and non-UASC young people.
Focus on pathway planning for adulthood.
Employ creative strategies to achieve permanence for older youth.
