Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants children and young adults in the areas of hematology oncology general medical/surgical care and patients needing behavioral crisis monitoring. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in care of patients with hematology and oncology diseases including new diagnosis transfusions chemotherapy administration central line maintenance and end-of-life care. Our 7th floor staff also care for general medical/surgical patients particularly those with non-infectious illnesses in order to maintain a clean environment for our patients with weakened immune systems. We utilize three inpatient rooms to support patients who need behavioral crisis monitoring. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from a few days up to months depending on the diagnosis monitoring and treatment the patient is receiving. We work collaboratively with our outpatient hematology/oncology clinic to coordinate ongoing chemotherapy treatment and system management. We value teamwork open communication safety and respect. Education Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current Minnesota RN licensure.
* Current BLS certification.
*CPHON Certification preferred (or willing to obtain). One (1) year nursing experience in a hospital setting. Pediatric experience preferred.
* Based upon the unit in which you are applying additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current Chemotherapy & Biotherapy (CHEMBIO) course completion required within 24-months of start date.
* Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
