Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Assistant
Contract Type: Interim Assignment (78 Weeks)
Location: Leonardtown MD
Pay Rate: Up to $24/hour
Schedule
Saturday: 8:00 AM 1:00 PM (Every third Saturday)
When scheduled to work Saturday the preceding Thursday will be off
Lunch Break: 12:30 PM 1:00 PM (Daily)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to support both front-office and back-office operations within a clinical healthcare setting. This interim role requires a team-oriented professional who is committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care while efficiently managing administrative and clinical responsibilities. A strong focus on health education outreach and collaboration is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Greet room and prepare patients for examinations
Obtain and document vital signs accurately
Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen collection
Administer vaccines and assist with EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
Provide general clinical assistance as needed
Maintain a clean safe and organized clinical environment
Administrative & Front Office Support
Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
Support front-desk operations as required
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Collaboration & Patient Care
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff
Communicate effectively with patients to support education and outreach initiatives
Contribute positively to a fast-paced patient-focused healthcare environment
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
23 years of overall experience preferred
Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred
Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR systems required
