Sr Control Systems Engineer

The Role:

Entegris is currently seeking a Sr Control Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Purity Solutions Division. This position will be at our San Luis Obispo CA facility.

In this role you will be responsible fordesigning developing and implementing advanced control systems and automation solutions for industrial processes. This role involves leading projects ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards andoptimizingsystem performance to improve efficiency and reliability.

What Youll Do:

Design & Development:

• Develop PLC HMI and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
• Create electrical schematics and control panel layouts using CAD tools.
• Design new systems from scratch with functional process design

Programming & Integration:

• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley Siemens etc.) HMIs and motion control systems.
• Integrate sensors actuators and instrumentation into automated systems.
• Troubleshoot making changes to existing systems on production floor (hardware & software)
• Support Field Service Engineers in commissioning & post-sales activities

Project Leadership:

• Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical electrical software).
• Leadership/mentorship of other team members
• Attending multi-functional meetingsrepresentingTeam

Testing & Commissioning:

• Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
• Ensure systems meet performance safety and compliance standards.

Optimization & Maintenance:

• Analyze system performance and implement improvements.
• Provide technical support and training for maintenance teams.

Documentation:

• Prepare detailed technical documentation including wiring diagrams control logic and user manuals.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering automation engineeringor mechatronics (Masters degree preferred).
• 7 years experience in industrial environments as controls engineer with progressive career growth.
• Strong experience with PLC programming (Rockwell Siemens) SCADA systems and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP Modbus Profibus).
• Proficiencyin electrical design software (AutoCADEPLAN).
• Knowledge of safety standards (NFPA 79 IEC 61131 OSHA).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in robotics motion control and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Familiarity with MES and ERP integration.
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems desired.
• Control Systems PE will be a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong documentation skills.

• Compensation: $120000 - $130000 range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
