About the Role:

We are seeking a capable and motivated Administration Officer to join our Public Health Services team based at Wallsend Health this role you will primarily support the Communicable Disease and Environmental Health teams working alongside Nurses Environmental Health Officers and Managers in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

This position offers meaningful varied work that contributes directly to the health and wellbeing of our communities. You will collaborate with a wide range of Hunter New England Local Health District services and external partners to support healthy environments healthy communities and healthy people.

About the Role:

No two days are the same in this role. You will be at the centre of service operations providing high-level administrative support across two busy and varied teams.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Managing busy diaries and coordinating appointments
  • Drafting professional correspondence and preparing reports
  • Phone intake data entry and triage of notifiable diseases
  • Supporting sensitive processes such as the management of deceased persons
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking accurate detailed minutes
  • Supporting data integrity and administrative workflows across both services
  • This role suits someone who enjoys variety complexity and being relied upon as a trusted support person within a multidisciplinary environment.

About You:

You are an engaged and thoughtful administrator who brings strong critical thinking skills and a collaborative approach to your work. You can prioritise effectively adapt to changing demands and remain calm and organised in a busy environment.

Experience in health or public health settings is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your attitude adaptability and willingness to learn.
