Job Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in launching and industrializing advanced additive and fabrication manufacturing capabilities at our Newington Connecticut facility. This position blends hands-on shop floor involvement with structured manufacturing and industrial engineering responsibilities. The role supports a strategic growth initiative and will evolve into a long-term manufacturing engineering position as the project matures. This opportunity is ideal for an aerospace manufacturing engineer who thrives in dynamic environments enjoys building processes from the ground up and is motivated by solving complex technical challenges through collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal teams and external contractors to upgrade and enhance manufacturing equipment and infrastructure
- Specify source install and commission new production equipment
- Develop shop floor layouts and detailed work instructions using NX CAD and authoring tools
- Translate engineering drawings and specifications into manufacturable processes
- Drive project schedules track action items and communicate status to stakeholders
- Support industrialization and NPI through the MRL process in compliance with AS9100 AS9145 NADCAP and frozen process planning
- Serve as technical focal point for special processes including additive manufacturing heat treatment and welding
- Provide first-line manufacturing process support operator training and certification
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using SPC root cause analysis error proofing and corrective actions
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Aerospace Mechanical Electrical or Chemical
- Minimum five years of manufacturing engineering experience within an aerospace environment
- Proficiency with NX and Microsoft Office; 3D modeling experience required
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated financial and cost analysis skills
- Must meet ITAR/EAR requirements as a U.S. Person or eligible individual
