The Role:
Our site inDanburyis seeking an Analytical QC Technicianto join our team.This positionis responsible forsupporting new product introduction and manufacturing processes for the Specialty Gas business unit of the Material Solutions division.The ideal candidate will be results oriented and an excellent team player with knowledge of safe gas handling techniques. WhatYoullDo:
The role will involveoperatingseveral gas phase analytical techniques including FTIR CRDS GC-MS GC-DID GC-PDHID RGA and ICP-MS.
Safely perform routine gas phase analysis to support existing products new productdevelopmentand customer requests
Handle gas cylindersoperategas manifolds and analytical instruments report results and recognize issues as they arise.
Run MSA studies for detection limits accuracyprecisionand stability for analyticalmethods
Design set up and execute experiments - analyze data and communicate results to theteam
Maintain and support lab practices per relevant ISO 17025 and 9001requirements
Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation including FTIR GC CRDS RGA etc.
Perform Pre-Safety Start Up Reviews (PSSRs) Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs) of processes as needed.
What We Seek:
Experience in analytical instrument operation dataanalysisand methoddevelopment
Experience with safe handling of gas cylinders and operation of gas manifolds preferred.
Team player attitude with a desire for excellence and continuous improvement
Flexible - ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multipletasks
Self-starter and comfortable working independently
Individual needs to be focused and pay special attention to details to ensure qualityresults
B.S degree of Chemistry Chemical Engineering or Material Science is aplus
Certifications or training in Six Sigma Semi ISOetc are aplus;
OutstandingCandidatesWillHave:
Test and analyze manufactured materials and in-process samples when needed and intimelymanner
Good communicationand coordination abilities and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks/projects inparallel
Ability to complete lab worksafely
Ability to learn and become proficient at several analyticaltechniques
