The Supervisor of Compliance is responsible for import and export daily operations provides advice direction and support to internal and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for managing a team and coordinating logistics operations and implementing compliance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance customer relationships by identifying areas for improvement in the overall customer experience
Own the execution of updating and analyzing of reports dashboards and presentations that provide stakeholders with insights and information on real-time project status and daily operations
Oversees the daily operations projects and performance of the team to meet KPIs and OKRsas agreed to with the client SLA
Summarize and present key insights and actions gleaned from daily operations and implement solutions to reduce costs improve cycle times minimize customs duties and enhance the visibility and security of the customers supply chains
Measure initiatives for impact and value and prioritize them accordingly
Support operational continuity and risk management plans
Execute and implement assigned individually owned projects
Audit and ensure the team is in full compliance with all applicable trade regulations including internal policies and procedures such as Standard Work Instructions (SWI) external government regulations and customer policies / requirements and implement corrective actions as needed
Analyze workflow and processes to optimize business operations and compliance management activities
Delegate and monitor the work of personnel providing support and interpreting instructions and objectives to ensure quality and evaluate their contributions to support annual performance reviews and address employee performance problems
Monitor productivity model to understand and record current workload and team capacity
Implement the necessary training knowledge and processes for team to perform their role
Continuously develop your individual knowledge of logistics trends compliance and general business acumen to benefit the customer and your personal career development
Collaborate with other supervisors to stay compliant and improve service delivery
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree with a specialization in Supply Chain & Logistics related field or equivalent experience
5 years experience in supply chain and Custom Brokerage in Freight Forwarding or third-party logistics
3 years experience in operations management or project management
3 years experience in owning stakeholder management and facilitation
2 years people management
Industry certifications such as IATA/FIATA Customs Brokerage License is preferred
Knowledge of corporate import/export requirements international trade laws classification valuation country of origin/destination determination country of origin marking Incoterms cross-border practices
Proficiency in using Google Suite tools including Google Sheets for data analysis and information sharing
Strong attention to detail analytical skills and quality management
Excellent customer service skills including negotiation proven ability to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Risk sensitive recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise
Ability to develop evaluate recommend and present best options
Must be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours including weekends
Travel less than 10%
