Health & Safety Director
Location: California/Washington (travel required)
Salary Range:$150000/year
About the Role
We are seeking a Health & Safety Director to lead and oversee our companys health and safety programs across office and field operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal state and local regulations driving a strong safety culture and providing leadership to health & safety officers and project teams. Reporting to senior management you will serve as both an administrator and fieldready professional guiding strategy while supporting daytoday operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development implementation and enforcement of health & safety policies and programs.
- Oversee H&S officers across regions and ensure proper deployment of resources.
- Conduct risk assessments root cause analyses and monitor compliance and performance metrics.
- Mentor and coach employees empowering superintendents to manage risk areas.
- Investigate incidents support workers compensation claims and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct training sessions presentations and safety committee meetings.
- Collaborate with project management field operations and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA ERISA COBRA FMLA ADA and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare reports maintain records and present safety data to senior leadership.
- Respond to emergencies and perform site inspections as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Health & Safety Engineering Business or related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required.
- OSHA 30/500 certification.
- 10 years of health & safety experience in construction engineering or contracting environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication leadership and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to travel regularly to job sites in California and Washington.
Physical & Work Environment
- Routine travel to job sites; ability to climb stairs and carry equipment (up to 10 lbs.).
- Work in both office and outdoor environments across all seasons.
