Job Description
Are you a Service Designer who enjoys shaping complex services that sit across digital operational and organisational boundaries Were looking for a mid-senior level Service Designer to join a leading consultancy supporting a nationally significant data-led organisation delivering critical services used across government industry and the public.
This role is ideal for someone who can zoom out to see the whole service ecosystem then zoom in to design practical improvements that work in the real world.
- Location:Kensington London(hybrid)
- Start Date:January 2026
- Duration:3-6 months (potential to extend)
- Rate:<400/day (inside IR35)
- Travel:Occasional UK travel may be required
What Youll Be Doing
- Mapping and designing end-to-end services across complex multi-channel environments.
- Working with users delivery teams and stakeholders to understand needs constraints and opportunities.
- Creating service artefacts such as service blueprints journey maps and operating models.
- Identifying pain points and designing improvements across people processes policy and technology.
- Collaborating closely with researchers UX designers product managers and delivery teams.
- Supporting evidence-led decision making within a data-heavy scientific and operational context.
What Youll Bring
- Strong experience designing services within complex organisations or public sector environments.
- Confidence leading service design activity from discovery through to delivery.
- Experience working across digital and non-digital touchpoints.
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A systems-thinking midset with the ability to balance user needs organisational constraints and delivery realities.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
