POSITION TITLE: Grants Administrator III


POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Grants Administrator III supporting the Office of Sponsored Programs at Scripps Research in La Jolla California home of some of the worlds most renowned scientists. This is a great opportunity for someone to showcase their analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of grant and contract administration. As a member of the OSP Post-Award team youll contribute to the institutes mission while honing your skills in grant administration.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide analyses and strategic direction to ensure Scripps Researchs financial commitments are met internally and externally
  • Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with agency and institute guidelines
  • Develop and manage best-in-class forecasting and measurement tools and processes defining KPIs and deriving insights to inform operational decision-making
  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and/or maximize opportunities in new initiatives / strategic management and measure results
  • Support Scripps Researchs leadership to evaluate new opportunities and initiatives
  • Prepare financial reports for Investigators and Sponsored Programs leadership and perform complex financial analyses on tight deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a grant and contract administration office.
  • Professional demeanor and solid spreadsheet skills are critical.
  • Familiarity with financial information systems and grant applications and awards and thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and NIH accounting guidelines (workday is a plus)
  • Skill and accuracy in detailed review of grants and contracts documents.
  • Effective analytical verbal and written communication skills and the ability to efficiently interact with faculty staff and leadership.
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage ones time to organize and prioritize workload.
  • This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus with flexibility to work 1 day per week remotely from home.

COMPENSATON:

The expected hiring range for this position is $75068 to $86290/annually commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
