The Marshall Career Services team comprised of more than 30 professional staff and more than 30 undergraduate and graduate student staff lead the charge to ensure all of Marshalls approximately 8200 undergraduate specialty MS and MBA students have the support and connections to achieve their professional goals. Marshall Career Services is excited to be adding a Career Data Analyst to our team. This position will organize and centralize our data efforts ultimately taking our data collection and analysis processes to the next level. The Career Data Analyst requires a unique skillset: comfort working both independently and collaboratively fine-tuned attention to detail while also being able to see the bigger picture and quantitative analysis mixed with qualitative presentation. The Career Data Analyst will outline data collection timelines and processes across each academic program partner with colleagues through Marshall to ensure the data is collected analyze and disseminate the results and ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled. This position reports to the Director of Assessment and Operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Outline career data collection timelines and processes for each of the academic programs catering each timeline and process to the unique requirements and goals for each program

  • Actively partner with Marshall Career Services staff academic program staff faculty and others to drive high response rates to all career surveys recognizing partnership and influence are the only way to drive successful completion rates; provide regular updates to all staff around survey completion rates to create a culture of assessment and expectation around driving response rates

  • Conduct full data analysis quality checks resolution of any issues and work to ensure final results are valid and defendable; complete all mandatory reporting to meet institutional responsibility for career data outcome reporting

  • Maintain expertise and up-to-date knowledge on relevant career standards including CSEA First Destination or other appropriate benchmarks

  • Partner with Institutional Research Admissions External Relations or other partners to offer data for dashboards publications or other marketing materials

  • Provide career outcome data to Marshall Career Services team; create career-related presentation decks for associate dean; create on-off reports at the request of the associate dean demonstrating career trends over time or other data points

  • Continually assess the effectiveness of the data collection tools being used; make recommendations on necessary updates and changes to ensure efficient and effective data collection

  • Position may supervise student employees graduate interns or project employees

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferably in a quantitative field

  • Three years of full-time relevant experience

  • High organizational and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of full-time relevant experience

  • Direct experience and knowledge of career data analysis and reporting

Anticipated Hiring Range:

  • The salary range for this position is 113939.96 - 128939.28 - 152210.32 (When extending an offer of employment the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity federal state and local laws contractual stipulations grant funding as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education:
Bachelors degree

Minimum Experience:
4 years

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Bachelors degree in counseling higher education human resources or related field. Four years counseling and human resources experience in a corporate or higher education environment or similar industry. Leadership and guidance skills with a proven ability to manage balance and prioritize different tasks and -depth knowledge of federal immigration regulations interpreting and providing guidance as to their relevance to international students. Advanced knowledge of employer recruiting strategies job market trends and occupational career and employment information sources. Superior level of professionalism exceptional attention to detail and exemplary written and oral communication presentation and public-speaking skills. Demonstrated experience interacting with diverse individuals and groups exercising diplomacy good judgment and discretion.
