Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for an IT & Communications at the Palmyra Missouri location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.
This is a paid summer internship starting in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. The standard work schedule follows a 4-day 10-hour shift Monday through Thursday. Some flexibility in workdays and hours may be required based on project needs and assignments.
What You Will Do:
This internship provides hands-on experience supporting network and communications systems within a utility environment. The intern will assist with equipment installation system updates and inventory management while learning from technical addition you will:
Assist in the installation configuration and testing of new network and communications equipment.
Perform updates audits and maintenance within fiber management software to ensure data accuracy and network integrity.
Manage and track inventory including equipment issuance returns and documentation of assets.
Collaborate with technical staff to document procedures update diagrams and maintain system records.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a motivated detail-oriented individual with an interest in IT networking or addition we are looking for:
Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology Networking Telecommunications or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a technical environment.
Highly proficient with personal computers and associated applications.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
