Job Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for designing implementing managing and optimizing the organizations IT infrastructure. This role ensures high availability security and performance of servers networks and core systems while providing advanced technical support and mentoring junior team members.
What will you do
Manage monitor and maintain on-premises and cloud-based server environments (Windows/Linux).
Ensure system availability performance scalability and reliability across all IT platforms.
Plan and execute system upgrades patches and migrations with minimal service disruption.
Implement and manage backup disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
Enforce security standards access controls and system hardening practices.
Monitor systems for security threats vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
Support audits and ensure adherence to IT policies security standards and regulatory requirements.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex system incidents and outages.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Review approve and execute system changes in line with change management processes.
Manage virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V) and cloud environments (AWS Azure or GCP).
Optimize system performance capacity and cost in virtual and cloud infrastructures.
Develop scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Continuously improve system performance through proactive monitoring and tuning.
Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations procedures and architecture.
Provide technical guidance mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior system administrators.
Collaborate with internal teams (IT Security Operations Business Units) to support business requirements.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance and service quality.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
58 years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles.
Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware Hyper-V).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure AWS GCP).
Experience with Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy.
Familiarity with monitoring tools backup solutions and scripting (PowerShell Bash Python).
Understanding of ITIL processes security frameworks and best practices.
Microsoft (Azure Administrator / MCSA / MCSE)
