Position Overview
Pantheon Data is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in migrating large mission-critical legacy systems into secure scalable AWS GovCloud environments. The engineer will play a central role in analyzing adapting and modernizing C# applications to ensure seamless performance compliance and interoperability across DHAs enterprise health IT ecosystem. This position requires strong technical expertise hands-on experience with cloud modernization and the ability to deliver secure cloud-native solutions aligned with DHAs mission.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing C# applications to document architecture dependencies and integration points prior to migration.
- Identify risks challenges and compatibility issues associated with legacy-to-cloud transitions providing remediation strategies.
- Design and execute comprehensive migration strategies for transitioning systems to AWS GovCloud.
- Modify and optimize applications for performance resiliency and compliance in cloud environments.
- Integrate applications with AWS services (e.g. EC2 S3 RDS Lambda) to modernize capabilities and reduce reliance on legacy infrastructure.
- Leverage AWS SDKs APIs and automation tools to streamline deployment and management of applications.
- Develop new cloud-native features and functionality to meet evolving DHA mission requirements.
- Conduct rigorous testing (unit integration performance) to validate functionality security and compliance.
- Embed security and compliance controls throughout the development and migration lifecycle in alignment with HIPAA FedRAMP and DoD IL standards.
- Collaborate with engineering DevSecOps and program teams to deliver mission-ready solutions.
- Communicate progress risks and technical challenges clearly to DHA stakeholders and leadership.
- Document migration processes lessons learned and best practices to support future modernization efforts.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceEngineeringor related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in C# development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with application migration and refactoring.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS services.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- AWS certifications ( Certified Solutions Architect Associate) are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook Word Excel SharePoint and PowerPoint.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $115000 - $135000. This is not however a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather salary will be set based on experience geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
