Job Summary
The Office of the CIO (OCIO) of a major government agency requires contractor support to assist technical staff in understanding the technical dependencies potential challenges and costs associated with separating a large portion of its IT services into an independent services are defined as the IT systems (applications) data and hardware that support the agency. This includes IT services housed at the agencys facilities data centers and in the cloud to include SaaS. The assessment will include more than 25 applications.
Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Note: This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity not a W-2 employee position. Contractors are engaged for specific projects or deliverables and are responsible for their own taxes insurance and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes the current network architecture and its interdependencies.
- Defines network segmentation options for logical and physical separation.
- Identifies security and connectivity requirements for separated environments.
- Provides cost estimates for necessary network changes including licenses and labor.
- Documents the risks and constraints related to network separation.
Requirements- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field. (3 years of additional experience are acceptable in lieu of a Bachelors Degree).
- At least 7 years experience in business process analysis with proven experience analyzing enterprise network architectures and interdependencies.
- Ability to define network segmentation strategies and separation requirements.
- Knowledge of security connectivity and compliance considerations in federal environments.
- Skilled at developing cost estimates for licenses labor and network changes.
- Proficiency in documenting risks constraints and mitigation strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in business process analysis for federal government agencies.

- Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

- Location: Remote
- Work Hours: Flexible determined by contractor (within client requirements)
- Equipment: Contractor provides own equipment unless otherwise specified by client requirements

Contractor Acknowledgment
This engagement is structured under a 1099 independent contractor agreement.
Contractors:
- Maintain full responsibility for paying federal state and local taxes.
- Are not eligible for Aretum employee benefits.
- Retain control over how services are performed consistent with contract terms.
- Must comply with all applicable federal contracting requirements including safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) if applicable.
Travel Requirements
This is a remote position; however occasional travel may berequiredbased on project needs client meetings team collaboration events or training is expected to be less than 10% and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
