Job Summary

Duties/Responsibilities:

Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. While not all tasks may be performed by every employee in this role all employees are expected to perform related tasks as needed.   • Answer incoming calls from patients caregivers and healthcare providers.
  • Schedule reschedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Complete thorough medication reconciliation.
  • Track and coordinate data pertinent to client plan of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EHR system.
  • Provide medication education and care instructions.
  • Manage patient medication assistance processes.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Use standard precautions/OSHA guidelines in patient care and disposal of medical waste.
  • Complete and submit billing documents.
  • Review all outpatient medication storage and administration locations for monthly pharmacy review.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPPA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Provide professional compassionate support to patients.
  • Complete continuing education to maintain medical assisting certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Certified Medical Assistant Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant credentials required.
  • Experience: Prefer one (1) year of experience working in a medical office and/or psychiatric setting.
  • Certificate or Professional License:
  • Certification in Medical Assisting through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Health Career Association (NHA) or registered Medical Assistant in the state of Indiana.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
  • Valid drivers license and active auto insurance coverage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
