Job Summary: The Radiation Therapist delivers prescribed radiation treatments to patients under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. This role focuses on accurate treatment setup dose delivery patient safety and adherence to radiation therapy protocols.
Responsibilities
- Accurately set up patients and administer therapeutic radiation treatments per physician prescription.
- Verify treatment parameters localize treatment areas and obtain port images for physician review.
- Perform daily equipment quality assurance and safety checks.
- Maintain precise treatment records and complete chart checks.
- Observe patients during treatment and report clinical changes or adverse reactions.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms immobilization devices and supplies.
- Assist with student instruction and support departmental workflow as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in therapeutic radiation therapy
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam technology
- Experience using MOSAIQ EMR
Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiation Therapy Required
