- Develop implement and maintain a robust HSE management system aligned with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.
- Conduct regular site audits risk assessments and safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
- Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for all levels of staff including contractors and third-party vendors.
- Monitor and report on key HSE performance indicators (KPIs) providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies government agencies and external auditors during inspections and certifications.
- Ensure all safety documentation permits and records are up to date and readily available for review.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership engagement initiatives and continuous communication.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning including drills and crisis management coordination.
- Collaborate with operations engineering and maintenance teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering Environmental Science Industrial Engineering or a related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g. NEBOSH CSP or OSHA) is highly desirable.
- 510 years of progressive experience in HSE management within industrial or manufacturing environments preferably in petrochemical chemical or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of managing HSE compliance in high-risk environments with zero tolerance for non-conformance.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian safety regulations (Factories Act EPA FSI etc.) and international standards (ISO 45001 ISO 14001).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive evidence-based improvements.
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders across all levels.
- Proficiency in HSE software tools and digital reporting systems for monitoring and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team under pressure and tight deadlines.
