UNLV University Libraries seeks nominations and applications for an experienced and collaborative administrative faculty member to serve as Head Web and Application Development position serves as a department leader and technical manager leading a department responsible for designing developing customizing deploying and supporting the Libraries websites and web applications including open source applications such as Islandora Drupal and associated locally developed to the Director Library Technologies this position manages collaborative projects of various size and scope encouraging effective time management communication and creative problem-solving amongst project team ideal candidate combines hands-on web management and development skills with high-level strategic vision helping to guide and extend capabilities of the Libraries web presence.

The Library Technologies Division is comprised of two departments Library Systems and Web and Application Development Services and several additional division is responsible for the planning procurement and lifecycle management and support of a large array of technologies and services supporting library staff and the UNLV student and research communities including the design development and support of local websites and custom applications.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and five or more years of experience in a relevant profession with at least three years of experience supervising technical staff.
