Position Summary US Sailing is seeking an entry level payroll and accounting professional to support our organizations financial operations. The position will report to the CFO and will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and Human Resource related activities as well as support accounts payable and/or accounts receivable and process month-end close entries. The position will work with the entire finance team which consists of 3 full time employees including this position the CFO and two Sr Accountants. Duties include analyzing and reporting on financial activity supporting Sr Accounts in the close process driving the timeliness and accuracy of month end close and related financial statements. The ideal candidate is an independent resourceful and detail oriented strategic thinker who possesses strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills. This role will require advanced Excel skills knowledge of basic payroll concepts as well as a understanding of the financial statements and how they interrelate. What youll be doing: - Process bi-weekly Payroll in Paycor and related benefits
- Manage onboarding and offboarding of employees and maintaining employee files
- Perform reconciliations of all bank accounts and payroll accounts
- Assist in processing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Assist with preparation of state and local tax returns and annual corporate reports
- Assist the accounting team with management of general ledger system utilizing various modules of the SAGE Intaact general ledger software package
- Assist with preparation for the annual financial audit
- Support in completing Workers Compensation audit requests
Who you are: - A highly motivated results-oriented and forward-thinking team player with a strong work ethic credibility and sense of integrity
- Bachelors degree in accounting ideally
- Strong understanding of payroll processes
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Possess strong personal communication skills
- Possess strong organizational skills attention to detail and be process oriented
- Ability to multitask prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
- Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intaact & Paycor or other payroll software preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite particularly Excel
- Belief in the Olympic movement
- Appreciation for the sport of sailing
