Job Summary
The Parker School is looking for a certified ESL teacher to work daily but part-time with a single ESL class. Current Massachusetts ESL certification required. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages community student responsibility and incorporates flexible learning strategies to provide individual small group and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students
- Develop and deliver direct instruction lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate ESL/SEI teaching techniques and strategies
- Provide instruction in English that meets ELP Benchmarks and assists students in accessing academic content to ensure that students meet/exceed learning targets
- Address all aspects of language through developmentally appropriate instruction in following domains: reading writing speaking and listening
- Assist with administration of academic and language assessments (ACCESS WIDA screeners) for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition
- Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progress
- Perform related duties as required or assigned
