Position Summary:
The QMS Leader is responsible for implementing and managing Pune Plants Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 IATF 16949 Customer Specific requirements and Regulatory requirements (Product quality related). He/she takes responsibility of effectively implementing Global GEM standard within Quality function inline with Plant GEM Leader plan and guidelines.
This role involves implementing Quality Policy-Objectives in Plant develop & maintain QMS Procedures processes inline with global standards plan & comply Customer (System) & Internal audits drive effective Change management process & RCCA at plant level & co-ordinate Annual improvement Projects and Kaizen management within QA function.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) inline with Garrett global standards to comply ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 latest standards Customer Specific Requirements & Regulatory requirements applicable for Product quality.
Ensure QMS documentation is up-to-date accurate and accessible to all the users through QMS portal and Controlled documents Server including support to HSE document control & portal management including Maturity assessment
Maintain Global QMS eCAMS portals and adhere to global QMS MOS
Work closely with Local and Global teams for gap analysis documentation and action closure to ensure compliance to applicable Customer Specific Requirements of IATF subscribed customers (like FORD GM VW Honda Renault Nissan PSA etc) & other customers being served from Pune plant.
Ensure awareness of Customer Specific requirements within Team through periodic communication & required awareness sessions / Trainings / coordination.
Responsible to document Management review meeting minutes and presentations
Plan co-ordinate & independently lead all system related External audits for Pune Plant
Lead & ensure successful Plant Certification Recertification & Surveillance audits for ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 with No major NC providing support to functions and imparting required training & guidance.
Lead & ensure compliance to Customer System audits with No major NC (incl. 5Star Audit Contamination)
Plan and/or coordinate monitor compliance to Internal audits - Manufacturing Process Audit (Including CQI audits as per CSR) Internal system Audit BIQ Audit Product Audit Layered Process Audits including Zero Defect audit SOS-SCS Audit etc.
Track and monitor to ensure effective closure of all Non-conformities raised in all system related audits
Develop & maintain Qualified Internal Auditors as per Qualification criteria defined by planning & providing required trainings maintaining qualification records
Plan QMS related Competence gap assessment develop Training calendar
Impart or arrange external Trainings to develop required QMS competence including Customer Specific requirements (i.e. CQI etc)
GEM 2nd Level Champion for QA function
Track and monitor Competence/ Skill Map for QA function and ensure Compliance to training calendar basis quarterly gap assessment
Support BIS Certification
Representing Plant during General visits from Customers & Stake holders (not with specific agenda/ havingTechical focus)
Lead overall Process Change Management Process for Pune Plant with timely and effective closure of change managements as per QMS Procedure & guidance to team.
Develop RCCA Culture in the Organization. Lead Improvement drive through Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions within Plant for effective problem solving as per RCCA Trigger Matrix
Guide team for appropriate usage of RCCA portal effectiveness tracking & proper closure of RCCAs
Ensure Continuous improvement through Corporate learning NCs Corrective actions & Lessons learnt (across plants and global functions) implementation in the plant (applicable to Pune)
Develop Kaizen culture to drive continuous improvement within QA function& improve Quality of Kaizens
As GEM 2nd level Champion for QA support to drive the GEM process within QA function and work with Plant GEM Leader & other functions 2nd Level Champions to engage in Best in Class knowledge sharing and benchmarking activities.
Drive improvement initiatives to implement & sustain QA Functional Excellence by ensuring GEM concept are in place (e.g. Kaizen Event Horizontal Deployment Continuous Improvement Annual Improvement Plan Digitization- Industry 4.0 Initiatives etc.)
Education/Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree or above in Engineering or equivalent
- Master degree is an advantage
- Qualified Internal Auditor for IATF 16949
- VDA 6.3 Certified auditor
- Stellantis Training qualifications will be advantage
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Black Belt or Lean Expert will be an advantage
Experience:
- Min. 15 Years of experience in Automotive Industry in the Field of Quality management System
- Experience of leading Certification audits independently for the site- min. 3 audits including Certification or Recertification audit for IATF 16949
- Experience of Co-ordinating with Team Functions and Global counterparts (Remote locations Corp Office)
- Experience in Business Excellence function will be added advantage
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team Influencing without authority
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Office 365 (Sharepoint One drive etc) & Quality management software and tools
- Knowledge of Customer specific requirements of OEMs especially IATF subscribed OEMs
- Thorough knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Expert in techniques for conducting audits
- Knowledge of IATF Core tools and experience if handling IATF CARA Portal
- Skills in executing and monitoring GEM & QMS initiatives.
