SUMMARY:
The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking faculty for a full-time Lecturer position in English composition. This is a non-tenure-track position that will begin in Spring 2026. The selected candidate will teach five courses chiefly in lower-level composition each semester with the opportunity to teach upper-division undergraduate courses when available. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student-centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post-secondary institutions including experience teaching in face-to-face hybrid/blended and online modalities; working with multilingual learners. The Lecturer in English composition is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses; advising students as appropriate; working closely with program and departmental administration; and providing service to the department college and university.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches undergraduate-level English courses;
Works closely with program and departmental administration;
Advises students;
Prepares syllabi;
Updates course materials;
Participates in curriculum development and assessment;
Delivers instruction both online and on any of the university campuses.
Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs;
Provides service to the department college and university; and
Maintains knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning with research best practices in teaching and technological applications in the classroom including online teaching.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:Masters degree in Rhetoric and Composition Writing Studies English or a closely-related field.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Demonstrate experience of successful teaching in English composition courses at the college level.
Ability to:Multi-task and work well as part of a team.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
PhD in in Rhetoric and Composition Writing Studies English or a closely-related field.
