Job Summary

A well-established law firm in Morgantown West Virginia is seeking a Family Law Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This role focuses on divorce child custody child support spousal support and contested family law cases from intake through resolution.

We are looking for a client-focused organized and court-ready attorney who can manage a full caseload while providing compassionate results-driven legal representation in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage family law cases including divorce custody support and related litigation
Represent clients in court hearings mediations settlement conferences and trials
Draft pleadings motions discovery and legal correspondence
Develop and execute strategic case plans from start to finish
Maintain professional empathetic client communication
Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure smooth case management

Required Qualifications

Active West Virginia law license (or ability to obtain)
2 years of family law or litigation experience preferred
Comfortable appearing in court and managing hearings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines effectively

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in contested custody divorce or support cases
Trial or courtroom experience in family law
Mediation or negotiation experience
Knowledge of West Virginia family law statutes and procedures
Experience in a law firm with billable caseloads
