The Lead Structural Engineer is responsible for overseeing the analysis design and review of structural systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This leadership role involves managing project teams ensuring technical excellence and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that comply with relevant codes and standards. The Lead Structural Engineer will collaborate closely with architects clients and other engineering disciplines driving projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings bridges and infrastructure projects ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g. AISC ACI IBC).
Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers providing technical oversight and guidance.
Prepare and review construction documents calculations specifications and cost estimates.
Conduct site visits inspections and assessments as needed to support design and construction activities.
Coordinate with architects contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions.
Oversee quality control processes and perform peer reviews of structural deliverables.
Engage in client communication project meetings and presentations to ensure alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
Stay abreast of advancements in structural engineering materials and construction methods recommending innovative solutions as appropriate.
Support business development efforts through proposal preparation technical presentations and participation in industry events.
Ensure all work adheres to company policies professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors (required) or Masters (preferred) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required. SE license preferred depending on project types and location.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering including project leadership roles.
Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis/design software (e.g. SAP2000 ETABS RAM RISA).
Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and building codes.
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of managing complex structural projects from concept through completion.
U.S. residency required; applications from outside the United States will not be considered.
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual Salary Range: $120000 $160000 depending on experience education and geographic location within the U.S.
