Who we are
At Hydryx were turning landfills into climate solutions. Landfills are one of the biggest blind spots in climate tech. They leak methane one of the most potent greenhouse gases into the atmosphere for decades. We think thats fixable.
Founded in 2023 Hydryx builds technology that makes landfill gas systems work like they should. We replace outdated manual infrastructure with fully automated systems. Our platform combines on-site sensors real-time monitoring and an AI-driven control algorithm to capture more gas reduce emissions and generate clean power.
The entire stack is built in-house; hardware software cloud and installed directly in the field. No assumptions no black boxes. Just better control better outcomes and a real path to decarbonizing waste.
And honestly the fact that this sector isnt sexy is exactly why its so interesting to us. Its overlooked underserved and full of low-hanging climate wins.
Were based in Amsterdam scaling fast and hiring. If you want to work on real-world climate problems ones you can see touch and fix come build with us.
Your role
You are the problem-solving layer that connects all our teams. You love puzzles and get energized when complex datasets and unknowns are thrown at you. With a sharp analytical mind and passion for climate impact youll turn raw landfill data into predictive insights that help us extract more energy and cut emissions faster. From exploring time-series sensor data to uncovering cross-pipeline effects you bring structure to chaos and clarity to decisions.
Responsibilities
Identify and resolve root causes of data anomalies and sensor failures with the operations team
Analyze time-series sensor data on power consumption with the embedded team
Optimise the pump cycle time to maintain accurate measurements whilst reducing impact on our sensors
Find trends in data that relate pipeline characteristics to sensor drift and damage
Correlate weather data (rainfall pressure temperature) with landfill gas production trends helping create the worlds first predictive landfill gas capture algorithm
Investigate how gas composition (methane ₂) predicts yield and volatility
Quantify how valve tuning across pipelines affects aggregate power production at landfill generator
Discover cross-pipeline flow effects and interdependencies with the algorithm team
Build reproducible pipelines models and dashboards for analytics and control strategies
Identify the required data for successful algorithm implementation
Collaborate with the CTO and algorithm team to translate findings into automation
Who you are
Youre a curious data-driven problem solver who thrives where hardware meets data. You love extracting signal from noise and turning insights into impact.
Strong Python skills; Pandas NumPy SciPy Stats Scikit-learn Matplotlib etc.
Experienced with time-series data; processing modeling forecasting anomaly detection
Solid grasp of statistics machine learning and hypothesis testing
Strong skills in data visualization and communicating findings
Comfortable with APIs large datasets and cloud databases; AWS RDS SQL etc.
Proactive independent and thrives under pressure
Bonus points for experience with gas sensing energy trading/forecasting or IoT datasets
Show us the hardest problem you worked on.
What we offer
Work that matters. Youll build systems that capture landfill methane turn it into energy and cut one of the worlds biggest climate problems down to size. Real tech deployed in the real world
Amsterdam as home base. Were building both a product and a team and for that you need to be in the room part of the week. How you manage that balance is up to you but collaboration happens fastest in person.
Upside thats real. We offer a competitive salary growth opportunities and meaningful stock options because if we win you should share in the value created
Ownership from day one. The learning curve is steep the feedback is direct and well throw as much responsibility at you as you can handle. Its simple: the more you raise the standard the more trust and ownership you earn
Good times included. From free daily healthy lunches and Friday beers to team dinners and a ski trip in February we work hard but we also make time to celebrate the ride together
Landfills are responsible for 6% of global emissions. Yet we believe that under every landfill lies a powerful opportunity and that great landfill management is a key part of the circular economy. We started Hydryx to prove that with the right technology we dont have to choose between ... View more
