Job Summary

Overview

The client is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Architect to support the design modernization and delivery of secure scalable and customer-centric government applications.

The role supports end-to-end product lifecycle management across multiple government initiatives. The Architect will work closely with business stakeholders enterprise architecture teams and delivery teams to analyze business architecture define application and information architectures and ensure alignment with OPS Target State Architecture and government standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of application and solution architectures for large complex government systems.
Apply OPS Target State Architecture principles and established architecture standards.
Develop and maintain key architecture artifacts including SAD BAD and IAD.
Analyze business and information requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
Present architecture recommendations to Enterprise Architecture governance and ARB.
Review Requests for Bids (RFBs) and provide architectural input and risk assessments.
Support security and privacy reviews including TRA PIA and penetration testing.
Collaborate with business analysts delivery teams and IT leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Must-Have

10 years of experience in an Applications Architect or Enterprise Architect role.
Proven experience delivering Solution Business and Information Architecture in large or complex organizations.
Demonstrated ability to produce SAD BAD and IAD artifacts.
Strong experience supporting security and privacy reviews including TRA PIA and PEN testing.
Experience reviewing RFBs and presenting architectural recommendations to an Architecture Review Board (ARB).
Experience across both Business Architecture and Application Architecture.
Strong understanding of public cloud services (IaaS PaaS SaaS).
Experience with Azure public cloud and hosted services (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365).
Experience designing reusable services integration patterns and enterprise frameworks.
Knowledge of AODA accessibility standards and related regulations.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience delivering architecture within the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or public sector environments.
Knowledge of Zachman Framework and Ontario Government EA methodologies.
Experience with middleware gateways and performance optimization.
Strong background in business process modeling data modeling and information management.
Experience with CASE tools project management tools and business re-engineering methodologies.
Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and digital government transformation initiatives.
