Bankruptcy & Restructuring Mid-Level Associate

A leading nationally recognized law firm is seeking experienced associates to join its Bankruptcy & Restructuring team in Charlotte. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated high-stakes matters for a diverse client base that includes private equity sponsors and portfolio companies financial institutions direct lenders corporate debtors and investors in distressed and special situations.

Associates in this group are deeply involved in advising clients through periods of financial distress helping them navigate complex restructuring transactions distressed M&A and related strategic decisions. The role is hands-on and fast-paced offering exposure to complex deal structures multi-party negotiations and time-sensitive matters where thoughtful legal judgment is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on complex bankruptcy restructuring and special situations matters
  • Structure negotiate and document restructuring transactions and distressed M&A deals
  • Counsel lenders investors sponsors and debtors on risk mitigation and exit strategies
  • Manage multi-party workstreams under demanding timelines
  • Deliver practical business-focused solutions to clients facing financial distress
  • Work closely with partners and team members on high-profile sophisticated matters

What Were Looking For:

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience
  • Prior bankruptcy or restructuring experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with BigLaw transactional backgrounds (finance or M&A) are encouraged to apply
  • Bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus
  • Exceptional academic credentials
  • Strong drafting negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrated commitment to responsiveness precision and client service
  • Willingness to be based in Charlotte or relocate to fully integrate with the team
