- Design & Technical Execution
- Design and oversee installation of mechanical systems including HVAC fire protection plumbing pumping drainage compressed air gas reticulation and mechanical plant systems.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
- Project Engineering & Site Coordination
- Supervise and inspect mechanical installations on-site.
- Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and site teams.
- Assist with scheduling procurement planning and commissioning.
- Cost & Quality Control
- Collaborate on BOQs variations and cost evaluations.
- Enforce quality assurance and control procedures.
- Implement value engineering initiatives.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare method statements O&M manuals and technical reports.
- Ensure safety environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with consultants municipal officials and statutory bodies.
- Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers architects and project managers.
- Maintain strong communication with clients contractors and suppliers.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 36 years experience in building services or industrial mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD Revit MEP HAP or similar).
- Strong knowledge of SANS ASHRAE or relevant building codes.
- Experience with design & build and fast-track projects.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
